Meet George and Lydia

The Old Iron Monger and Mrs. Monger Invites you to get to know us here in Thompson Falls, Montana.
The Old Iron Monger and Mrs. Monger are George and Lydia LaFriniere. George was born and raised in Thompson Falls, Montana. Lydia came to the United States from Czechoslovakia when she was 25 years of age and arrived in Thompson Falls in January 1994. George and Lydia have been married since 1996.
Lydia began her own cleaning business here in Thompson Falls while George continued working in his machine shop. Lydia first approached George with the idea for wrought iron gifts when she wanted something unique and hand made for her cleaning customers. The wrought iron candleholders George designed and hand crafted for Lydia's customers were a big hit. That's how their ornamental iron business was born.
With the success of George's Iron Candle holders, Lydia and friends, Brenda and Russell, encouraged George to develop a larger product line and explore the artistic side of ironwork. With the overwhelming success of selling George's wrought iron home accessories locally that they began to wonder if there might be a market elsewhere for George's work.
After 4 years of mulling over this
concept, one of George's old customers, Scott (aka—One Guy Lighting)
encouraged George and Lydia to try their business on the Internet. With
Scott’s help: www.rusticloglighting.com/iron.html - The Old Iron Monger was born
on the Internet.
Now we are proud to announce our very own website:
www.oldironmonger.com - as of January 2005. Our site may be
simple, but this is the way we like it. Without Tamra’s help from One Cent
Wiz Web Consulting, we wouldn’t have gotten this far. Have fun shopping our
site and feel free to contact us using the information below if you have any
questions.
Happy Shopping and have a Wonderful Day!
